CECC provides details about mixed-up specimens of Case #530 and Case #536

On October 28, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced the findings of the investigation into the incident concerning the specimens collected from two cases, Case #530 and Case #536. After probing into the processes of specimen collection, delivery of specimen, and lab testing, the CECC's investigation found that the positive saliva sample, which was originally labeled as the sample from the imported Case #530, was actually a sample collected from Case #536 who entered Taiwan from France on the same day as Case #530. The CECC will remove Case #530 from the list of confirmed cases in Taiwan and will notify China and the International Health Regulations (IHR) focal point under the World Health Organization of information about the handling of this case.
