On June 11, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 79,663 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 79,663 new cases, 79,598 are domestic and 65 are imported. The CECC announced 211 deaths today.
Regarding the 79,598 new domestic cases, 37,636 are male and 41,934 are female, while the gender of the other 28 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years.
Of those domestic cases, 13,047 were reported in Kaohsiung City, 11,341 in Taichung City, 10,728 in New Taipei City, 7,038 in Tainan City, 6,487 in Taoyuan City, 5,991 in Changhua County, 5,384 in Taipei City, 3,369 in Pingtung County, 2,027 in Yunlin County, 1,842 in Hsinchu County, 1,812 in Miaoli County, 1,584 in Nantou County, 1,583 in Chiayi County, 1,490 in Hsinchu City, 1,331 in Yilan County, 1,074 in Hualien County, 1,022 in Keelung City, 959 in Taitung County, 951 in Chiayi City, 283 in Penghu County, 229 in Kinmen County, and 26 in Lienchiang County.
Regarding the 211 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 112 men and 99 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.
Regarding the 65 new imported cases, they were 43 men and 22 women ranging in age from under 10 to 69 years. Of the cases, four arrived from the US, three from Vietnam, and one from Thailand. The areas the remaining 57 cases arrived from are being investigated.
The CECC reported that a total of 12,184,747 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,326,301. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 2,841,696 cases. Of the 2,841,696 confirmed cases, 13,422 are imported; 2,828,220 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 4,008 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 4,008 deaths, 3,993 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
