Effective from June 21, definition of confirmed case revised to include individuals who test positive with SARS-CoV-2 at-home PCR test kit approved by Taiwan's FDA and have their results confirmed by doctors


On June 22, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) reported that the definition of a confirmed case of COVID-19 had been revised on June 21 to include: an individual who tests positive for COVID-19 with a SARS-CoV-2 at-home PCR test kit authorized for use by the Food and Drug Administration of the Ministry of Health and Welfare and has their test result confirmed by a doctor; such individual is counted as a confirmed case. This revised definition took effect from June 21.
