Second batch of 910,000 doses of BNT vaccine donated by TSMC, Hon Hai Yonglin, and Tzu Chi arrives in Taiwan on morning of September 9


On September 9, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that a second batch of 910,000 doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech (BNT) vaccine donated by Semiconductor Manufacturing Co., Ltd., (TSMC), Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., Ltd., and Yonglin Charity Foundation, and Buddhist Tzu Chi Charity Foundation arrived at Taoyuan International Airport at 6:18 a.m. this morning. The vaccine doses will be shipped to designated cold storage and logistics centers for the subsequent testing and lot release procedures after customs clearance.

This batch of the vaccines will be distributed and offered to the target groups according to the CECC's plans. Adolescents aged 12-17 (inclusive) are prioritized for the vaccine shots, and the shots will be given according to the lists of eligible adolescents it compiles, and people aged 18-22 (inclusive) who have registered their willingness and are not vaccinated will be the next group of recipients to receive the remaining vaccine doses.
