CECC confirms 31,462 more COVID-19 cases, including 31,364 domestic cases and 98 imported cases

On July 7, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 31,462 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 31,462 new cases, 31,364 are domestic and 98 are imported. The CECC announced 105 deaths today.

Regarding the 31,364 new domestic cases, 14,450 are male and 16,902 are female, while the gender of the other 12 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years.

Of those domestic cases, 5,121 were reported in New Taipei City, 4,081 in Taichung City, 3,442 in Kaohsiung City, 3,141 in Taoyuan City, 2,948 in Taipei City, 2,507 in Tainan City, 1,823 in Changhua County, 1,224 in Pingtung County, 813 in Yunlin County, 798 in Miaoli County, 748 in Hsinchu County, 700 in Yilan County, 650 in Chiayi County, 624 in Nantou County, 591 in Hualien County, 576 in Hsinchu City, 453 in Keelung City, 387 in Taitung County, 337 in Chiayi City, 201 in Penghu County, 181 in Kinmen County, and 18 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 105 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 76 men and 29 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 98 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between July 5 and 6, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 13,775,208 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,774,791. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 3,995,621 cases. Of the 3,995,621 confirmed cases, 15,274 are imported; 3,980,293 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 7,328 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 7,328 deaths, 7,313 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
