CECC confirms 31,297 more COVID-19 cases, including 31,152 domestic cases and 145 imported cases


On July 12, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 31,297 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 31,297 new cases, 31,152 are domestic and 145 are imported. The CECC announced 60 deaths today.

Regarding the 31,152 new domestic cases, 14,893 are male and 16,242 are female, while the gender of the other 17 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years.

Of those domestic cases, 4,823 were reported in New Taipei City, 4,030 in Taichung City, 3,555 in Kaohsiung City, 2,858 in Taoyuan City, 2,808 in Taipei City, 2,592 in Tainan City, 1,655 in Changhua County, 1,168 in Pingtung County, 1,033 in Yunlin County, 902 in Miaoli County, 797 in Chiayi County, 760 in Yilan County, 728 in Hsinchu County, 617 in Nantou County, 554 in Hualien County, 506 in Taitung County, 502 in Hsinchu City, 425 in Chiayi City, 390 in Keelung City, 223 in Kinmen County, 182 in Penghu County, and 44 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 60 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 36 men and 24 women ranging in age from 30 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 145 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between July 10 and 11, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 13,998,762 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,863,325. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 4,132,429 cases. Of the 4,132,429 confirmed cases, 15,908 are imported; 4,116,467 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 7,780 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 7,780 deaths, 7,765 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
