CECC confirms 23,118 more COVID-19 cases, including 23,045 domestic cases and 73 imported cases

On July 4, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 23,118 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 23,118 new cases, 23,045 are domestic and 73 are imported. The CECC announced 69 deaths today.

Regarding the 23,045 new domestic cases, 10,929 are male and 12,087 are female, while the gender of the other 29 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years.

Of those domestic cases, 3,438 were reported in New Taipei City, 3,217 in Taichung City, 2,719 in Kaohsiung City, 2,411 in Taoyuan City, 1,992 in Taipei City, 1,842 in Tainan City, 1,336 in Changhua County, 921 in Pingtung County, 619 in Miaoli County, 609 in Yunlin County, 599 in Hsinchu County, 491 in Hsinchu City, 491 in Yilan County, 472 in Nantou County, 439 in Chiayi County, 436 in Hualien County, 254 in Taitung County, 246 in Keelung City, 213 in Chiayi City, 157 in Penghu County, 125 in Kinmen County, and 18 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 69 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 36 men and 33 women ranging in age from under five to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 73 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between July 2 and 3, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 13,610,737 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,713,634. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 3,893,643 cases. Of the 3,893,643 confirmed cases, 14,995 are imported; 3,878,594 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 7,025 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 7,025 deaths, 7,010 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
