On July 6, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced four new confirmed cases of the Omicron subvariant BA.5. Of the four cases, two are domestic and the other two are imported. The two imported cases are family members living with the imported BA.5 case detected at the border and announced on July 4 (index case); these three individuals arrived in Taiwan from the US on June 19. The two domestic cases are linked to the family cluster associated with the index case.
