On April 7, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) reported that the positivity rate has remained high recently among travelers who arrived on flights from Vietnam and received tests upon arrival. To reduce the burden caused by a number of travelers testing positive on epidemic prevention efforts in communities, the CECC announced that Vietnam Airlines, VietJet Air, and Bamboo Airways, whose passengers have a high positivity rate, are requested to cooperate in undertaking the following measures from April 7 to May 6:
Travelers should be informed to take a rapid antigen test within six hours before boarding and provide their test result to their airline in addition to a test result from a PCR test taken within two days of boarding; the airlines should have designated staff monitor rapid testing and ensure travelers take rapid tests as required.
If a high positivity rate is reported for travelers on flights operated by other airlines, such airlines should also take these measures.
