CECC confirms 43,085 more COVID-19 cases, including 43,040 domestic cases and 45 imported cases

On October 1, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 43,085 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 43,085 new cases, 43,040 are domestic and 55 are imported. The CECC announced 48 deaths today.

Regarding the 43,040 new domestic cases, 19,924 are male and 23,095 are female, while the gender of the other 21 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 8,756 were reported in New Taipei City, 5,745 in Taichung City, 4,846 in Taipei City, 4,705 in Taoyuan City, 3,863 in Kaohsiung City, 2,811 in Tainan City, 2,268 in Changhua County, 1,279 in Hsinchu County, 1,060 in Pingtung County, 1,052 in Miaoli County, 987 in Hsinchu City, 963 in Yilan County, 939 in Yunlin County, 742 in Keelung City, 719 in Nantou County, 654 in Chiayi County, 618 in Hualien County, 460 in Chiayi City, 310 in Taitung County, 132 in Kinmen County, 114 in Penghu County, and 17 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 48 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 32 men and 16 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 45 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between September 1 and 30, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 17,910,279 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 11,403,098. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 6,504,422 cases. Of the 6,504,422 confirmed cases, 34,908 are imported; 6,469,460 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 11,101 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 11,101 deaths, 11,085 are from domestic cases and the other 16 are from imported cases.
