CECC confirms 1 more imported COVID-19 case; asymptomatic Indonesian migrant worker found to have COVID-19 after taking self-paid test


On October 28, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced one new confirmed imported case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. The case is a female migrant worker from Indonesia in her 10s (Case #551). The Indonesian woman entered Taiwan on October 7. She has not developed any symptoms since arrival.

The case showed no symptoms when entering Taiwan. The case underwent home quarantine after entry. During the home quarantine period, she reported she had no symptoms. After completing the quarantine period, she continued to practice the self-health management. On October 26, she visited the hospital to take a COVID-19 test at her own expense. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on October 28. The case is currently hospitalized in isolation.
