CECC confirms 4 more imported COVID-19 cases


On December 5, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced four new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the four new imported cases, they are three men and one woman, aged between 20 to 69 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from the US, Vietnam, Laos, and Indonesia. They arrived between November 18 and December 3.

The CECC reported that a total of 4,536,780 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 4,518,083. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,652 cases. Of the 16,652 confirmed cases, 2,008 are imported; 14,590 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 111 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 848 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 848 deaths, 836 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
