CECC confirms 7 more COVID-19 cases, including 1 domestic case and 6 imported cases


On November 5, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced seven new confirmed case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of those cases, one is domestic and the other six are imported. The CECC announced no deaths today.

Regarding the one new domestic case, Case #16547 is an over 30-year-old female from Indonesia. She worked in Taiwan for an extended period of time. She was tested for COVID-19 on November 4. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on November 5 (the CT value was 40).

Regarding the six new imported cases, they are five men and one woman, aged between 10 to 49 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from Germany, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, and Cambodia. They arrived between October 22 and November 3.

The CECC reported that a total of 4,058,655 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 4,040,892. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 16,437 cases. Of the 16,437 confirmed cases, 1,792 are imported; 14,591 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 847 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 847 deaths, 835 are from domestic cases and the other 12 are from imported cases.
