On August 8, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 81 new confirmed cases of BA.4 and BA.5; nine of the cases are domestic and the other 72 cases are imported. As of now, there have been a cumulative total of 71 imported cases of BA.4, 468 imported cases of BA.5, and two imported cases of BA.2.75. Furthermore, there have been a cumulative total of 23 confirmed domestic cases of BA.5 and no confirmed domestic cases of BA.4 or BA.2.75.
