On May 12, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced four new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Those four new cases arrived in Taiwan from the Philippines (Cases #1212-1214) and India (Case #1215).
Case #1212 and Case #1214 are all migrant workers from the Philippines. They traveled to Taiwan for work on April 27. They were tested for COVID-19 on May 10, before completing the quarantine period; infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the cases on May 12.
Case #1215 is a Taiwanese man in his 40s. He returned to Taiwan from India on May 10. He was tested for COVID-19 upon arrival because he experienced nasal congestion. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on May 12.
