20,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine from Lithuania arrive in Taiwan on morning of July 31

On July 31, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) pointed out that the government of Lithuania had announced a donation of 20,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to Taiwan on June 22, and, with cooperative efforts and arrangements between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Lithuania and Taiwan's representative office in Latvia, the vaccine doses arrived at Taoyuan International Airport on the morning of July 31. This batch of vaccine doses will be offered to individuals to be vaccinated under the national COVID-19 vaccination program after completion of the subsequent testing and lot release procedures.

The CECC hereby expresses its sincere gratitude to the government and people of Lithuania for donating the batch of COVID-19 vaccine doses to Taiwan, which can greatly help the country fight against the virus, during the tough times the country is facing in the pandemic and amid the global vaccine supply shortages.
