Changes to name-based mask distribution system take effect on December 31; mask quota will become 10 masks per person every two weeks at a price of NT$40, with current distribution channels unchanged


On December 9, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced adjustments to the name-based mask distribution system as follows:

1. NHI-contracted pharmacies will sell 10 face masks per person, masks for adults and children alike, every 14 days with a price of NT$40 starting from December 31, 2020; other distribution channels, such as convenience stores, will make such changes accordingly starting from January 4, 2021.
2. Mask manufacturers will pack 10 masks in one package sold under the name-based mask distribution system and shall provide a clear label on the package containing information, including the serial number of permit, shelf life, and expiration date, for public information and verification pursuant to the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act.
