CECC confirms 3 more imported cases; cases arrive in Taiwan from Indonesia and India


On April 28, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced three new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Those three new cases arrived in Taiwan from Indonesia (Case #1115 and Case #1116) and India (Case #1117).

Case #1115 and Case #1116 are an Indonesian female in her 20s and an Indonesian male in his 20s. They traveled to Taiwan for studies on April 11. After completing the quarantine period on April 26, they went to the hospital for testing. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the cases on April 28 (Case #1115 had a CT value of 32; Case #1116 had a CT value of 30).

Case #1117 is a Taiwanese male in his 30s. He visited India for work in February 2020, and returned to Taiwan on April 13, 2021. He experienced a mild cough on April 24, and developed diarrhea and a fever the next day. Thus, the health authority arranged for him to seek medical attention and undergo testing. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on April 28 (the CT value was 21).
