CECC confirms 68,347 more COVID-19 cases, including 68,311 domestic cases and 36 imported cases

On June 10, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 68,347 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 68,347 new cases, 68,311 are domestic and 36 are imported. The CECC announced 213 deaths today.

Regarding the 68,311 new domestic cases, 31,939 are male and 36,332 are female, while the gender of the other 40 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years.

Of those domestic cases, 10,032 were reported in Taichung City, 9,864 in Kaohsiung City, 8,858 in New Taipei City, 6,291 in Tainan City, 6,081 in Taoyuan City, 5,088 in Changhua County, 4,891 in Taipei City, 2,989 in Pingtung County, 1,748 in Hsinchu County, 1,597 in Yunlin County, 1,530 in Nantou County, 1,509 in Miaoli County, 1,272 in Hsinchu City, 1,266 in Chiayi County, 1,259 in Yilan County, 1,063 in Hualien County, 965 in Keelung City, 806 in Taitung County, 753 in Chiayi City, 230 in Penghu County, 198 in Kinmen County, and 21 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 213 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 120 men and 93 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 36 new imported cases, they were 19 men and 17 women ranging in age from under five to 99 years. Of the cases, three arrived from the US, two from Slovakia, and one each from the UAE and Thailand. The areas the remaining 29 cases arrived from are being investigated. They all arrived between June 5 and 6, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 12,074,379 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 9,309,106. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 2,762,080 cases. Of the 2,762,080 confirmed cases, 13,357 are imported; 2,748,669 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 3,797 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 3,797 deaths, 3,782 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
