CECC confirms 5 more imported COVID-19 cases; Indonesian and Filipino migrant workers found to have COVID-19 before end of quarantine


On November 25, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced five new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Among those five new cases (Cases #620-624), three arrived in Taiwan from Indonesia, and two traveled from the Philippines. 

Cases #620-622 are three women from Indonesia with their ages ranging between 30 to 50 years old. Those three women came to Taiwan for work from their home country on November 10. They stayed at group quarantine facilities after entry. They haven't developed any symptoms since arrival. The three Indonesian women were tested for COVID-19 on November 23 before completing the quarantine period, and infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the cases on November 25. 

Case #623 and Case #624 are two Philippine nationals. Of the two persons, one is an over 20-year-old woman, and the other is an over 30-year-old man. They traveled to Taiwan for work from the Philippines on November 10 and November 11. Those two Filipino migrant workers stayed at group quarantine facilities after arrival. They haven't shown any symptoms since arrival. They were tested for COVID-19 on November 23 and November 24 before completing the quarantine period. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the cases on November 25.
