On July 22, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced one new confirmed imported case of the Omicron subvariant BA.2.75. The individual infected with the subvariant returned to Taiwan from India with a family member and friend on July 10. The results from the arrival tests these three individuals took at the airport were positive (the Ct values were 20). Genome sequencing was conducted on July 21, finding that the confirmed case was infected with BA.2.75, while the family member and friend were infected with BA.4.
The three individuals have been released from isolation. No contacts were identified as they didn't come into contact with others during isolation.
