On July 20, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that the rollout of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for children 6 months through 5 years of age (under 6) is expected to begin on July 21.

The CECC reminds parents that they should read the information sheet given by their vaccination site to understand possible common side effects following vaccination as this is the first rollout of a COVID-19 vaccine for children 6 months through 5 years of age (under 6) in the country and possible side effects as well as rare cases of myocarditis and pericarditis have been observed in children and adolescents after vaccination with an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine.
