Government-funded regular rapid testing measures in residential, community care institutions extended until October 31

On September 21, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that the government-funded regular rapid testing measures in residential as well as community-based care institutions have been extended by another month, until October 31, 2022. Regarding how often rapid tests are performed, care recipients are still required to undergo two rapid tests every week (persons with mental or physical disabilities, persons with dementia, and people aged 2-18 undergo a test each week, and children under 2 years of age are exempted from testing). Furthermore, staff at such institutions are required to take at least one rapid test every week, while people who have recovered from COVID-19 are exempted from testing within three months. The rules for how often rapid tests are performed will be adjusted in due course based on the pandemic situation.
