235,900 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine provided by Lithuania to arrive in Taiwan on afternoon of October 9

On October 9, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) pointed out that the government of Lithuania had announced on September 22 that it would donate a second batch of the AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine, containing 235,900 doses, to Taiwan; the second batch of vaccines is scheduled to arrive at Taoyuan International Airport on the afternoon of October 9. The vaccine doses will be shipped to designated cold storage and logistics centers for the subsequent testing and lot release procedures after customs clearance. This batch of vaccine doses will be distributed and offered to individuals to be vaccinated under the national COVID-19 vaccination program according to the CECC's plan.

The CECC once again expresses its sincere gratitude to the government and people of Lithuania for again donating a batch of COVID-19 vaccine doses to Taiwan, which will help Taiwan boost its vaccination coverage, during this difficult time in the pandemic and amid the global vaccine supply shortages.
