Beginning May 1, CECC to implement new quarantine and disease prevention and control measures for flight crews of Taiwanese airlines returning to Taiwan

On April 27, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced it will change quarantine regulations and disease prevention measures for crew members of Taiwanese airlines returning to Taiwan starting from May 1 (incoming flight's scheduled arrival time). Related adjustments are listed below.

1. Crew members returning from countries under Level 3 travel notice (long-haul flights):

a. Those who have received a COVID-19 booster shot for at least 14 days: a three-day home quarantine (one person per room and going out is not allowed) and a four-day self-health management (a PCR test on Day 0 and a rapid test or PCR test every day from Day 4 to Day 7).
b. Those who have not received a booster shot (including those who have received a booster dose for a period of less than 14 days): a five-day home quarantine (a PCR test on Day 5) and a nine-day enhanced self-health management (PCR tests on Day 9 and Day 14).

2. Crew members who have not entered countries under Level 3 travel notice and have returned to Taiwan the same day (short-haul flights):

a. Those who have received a COVID-19 booster shot for at least 14 days: a five-day self-health monitoring and a mandatory rapid test or PCR test every five days.
b. Those who have not received a booster shot (including those who have received a booster for a period of less than 14 days): rules remain unchanged; a seven-day self-health management and PCR testing every seven days.
