CECC confirms 27,196 more COVID-19 cases, including 26,943 domestic cases and 235 imported cases


On July 20, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 27,196 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 27,196 new cases, 26,943 are domestic and 253 are imported. The CECC announced 57 deaths today.

Regarding the 26,943 new domestic cases, 12,557 are male and 14,350 are female, while the gender of the other 16 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 4,614 were reported in New Taipei City, 3,415 in Taichung City, 3,004 in Taoyuan City, 2,751 in Taipei City, 2,703 in Kaohsiung City, 1,979 in Tainan City, 1,236 in Changhua County, 833 in Pingtung County, 761 in Miaoli County, 756 in Hsinchu County, 681 in Yunlin County, 665 in Yilan County, 643 in Hsinchu City, 536 in Hualien County, 519 in Chiayi County, 428 in Nantou County, 411 in Keelung City, 352 in Taitung County, 295 in Chiayi City, 185 in Kinmen County, 141 in Penghu County, and 35 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 57 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 32 men and 25 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 253 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between June 21 and July 19, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 14,363,622 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 10,020,309. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 4,337,076 cases. Of the 4,337,076 confirmed cases, 17,389 are imported; 4,319,633 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 8,318 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 8,318 deaths, 8,303 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
