CECC further relaxes restrictions concerning attending funerals and visiting relatives for people in home isolation or quarantine

On July 8, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that it has further eased restrictions concerning the permitted number of visits and time period for going out if people in home isolation or quarantine have to leave home or a designated location to attend the funeral of their relatives or visit their relatives with serious illness.

Related details:
1.    Those who are in home isolation or quarantine and are asymptomatic may submit a request to the local health authority on or after the fifth day of home isolation or quarantine period.
2.    After a request is approved and the hospital has consented to the individual’s request, the local health authority will arrange for the individual to be tested at a designated healthcare facility at the individual’s own expense.
3.    Within three days after the individual’s test result comes back negative, the individual may, with the hospital’s consent, go out to visit a patient or may attend or organize a funeral for which the duration may not exceed two hours at a time (travel time between locations excluded). Moreover, the individual may only go out for the reasons mentioned above once every day.
4.    The individual must wear a face mask at all times when going out and must maintain social distancing. The individual may not use public transportation.

Considering that funerals or hospitals are places where people come together in person and are places at risk of COVID-19 transmission, applicants of such request must fill out a disease prevention checklist to reinforce personal preventive measures and ensure public safety.
