On October 8, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced that an eighth batch of the Moderna vaccine, containing 1.1321 million doses, purchased by the CECC departed from Atlanta, U.S.A. in the early morning of October 8 (Taipei Time) and is expected to arrive at Taoyuan International Airport in the evening today.

The shipment of vaccine doses will be shipped to designated cold storage and logistics centers for the subsequent testing and lot release procedures after customs clearance. The vaccine doses will be distributed and offered to individuals to be vaccinated under the national COVID-19 vaccination program according to the CECC's plan.
