To continue detecting variants from China and be in line with the implementation period of the special travel arrangement for Kinmen and Matsu residents (until February 6), the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced on January 27 that saliva-based PCR testing required at the airport/port for travelers arriving on direct flights from China and those arriving through this travel arrangement would be extended through February 6 (scheduled arrival time). Additionally, the rule that requires travelers arriving from China who transfer through Hong Kong or Macao to present a PCR test result from within the 48 hours prior to boarding their flight at the place of departure or a rapid test result from within 24 hours of boarding will be extended to February 6 (scheduled arrival time).
