CECC confirms 4 more imported cases; cases arrive in Taiwan from India


On May 11, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced four new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Those four new (Cases #1204-1207) cases arrived in Taiwan from India.

Cases#1204-1206 are a Taiwanese male in his 50s, a Taiwanese female in her 40s, and a Taiwanese male in his 20s. Cases#1204-1206 took the same flight to Taiwan on May 8. After arriving in Taiwan, Case #1204 was quarantined at a group quarantine facility. He was tested for COVID-19 on May 9. Case #1205 and Case #1206 voluntarily notified airport quarantine officers that they had experienced symptoms upon arrival, and were tested at the airport. Infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the cases on May 11.

Case #1207 is an over 20-year-old female from India. She traveled to Taiwan from India on May 9. She was tested for COVID-19 on May 10; infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in the case on May 11.
