CECC confirms 6 more imported cases; cases arrive in Taiwan from France, the US, Vietnam, Pakistan, Cambodia, and another country


On August 28, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced six new confirmed imported cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. The CECC reported no deaths today.

Regarding the six new imported cases, they are three men and three women, aged between 10 to 69 years old. They arrived in Taiwan from France, the US, Vietnam, Pakistan, Cambodia, and another country. They arrived between August 7 and August 27.

The CECC reported that a total of 2,618,184 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 2,600,433. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 15,960 cases. Of the 15,960 confirmed cases, 1,398 are imported; 14,509 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 2 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has unknown sources of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated, and a cumulative total of 110 cases have been removed from the list of confirmed cases. There have been a cumulative total of 833 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 833 deaths, 825 are from domestic cases and the other 8 are from imported cases.
