CECC confirms 21,501 more COVID-19 cases, including 21,273 domestic cases and 228 imported cases


On July 30, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) announced 21,501 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Taiwan. Of the 21,501 new cases, 21,273 are domestic and 228 are imported. The CECC announced 60 deaths today.

Regarding the 21,273 new domestic cases, 9,875 are male and 11,385 are female, while the gender of the other 13 cases is under investigation. They range in age from under five to above 90 years. Of those domestic cases, 3,750 were reported in New Taipei City, 2,770 in Taichung City, 2,164 in Taoyuan City, 2,163 in Kaohsiung City, 2,067 in Taipei City, 1,717 in Tainan City, 1,066 in Changhua County, 612 in Miaoli County, 603 in Pingtung County, 585 in Hsinchu County, 549 in Hsinchu City, 523 in Yunlin County, 434 in Yilan County, 430 in Hualien County, 347 in Chiayi County, 328 in Nantou County, 311 in Keelung City, 284 in Taitung County, 238 in Chiayi City, 167 in Penghu County, 147 in Kinmen County, and 18 in Lienchiang County.

Regarding the 60 deaths from domestic cases announced today, they were 37 men and 23 women ranging in age from 40 to above 90 years. They were severe cases.

Regarding the 228 imported cases, they all arrived in Taiwan between July 6 and 29, 2022.

The CECC reported that a total of 14,794,183 cases related to COVID-19 have been reported in Taiwan among which COVID-19 has been ruled out in 10,220,482. Of these reported cases, infection with COVID-19 was laboratory-confirmed in 4,567,122 cases. Of the 4,567,122 confirmed cases, 19,808 are imported; 4,547,260 are domestic; 36 are naval crew members aboard the Panshi fast combat support ship; 3 are infections on an aircraft; 1 case has an unknown source of infection; 14 cases' sources of infection are being investigated. There have been a cumulative total of 8,893 COVID-19 deaths since 2020; of the 8,893 deaths, 8,878 are from domestic cases and the other 15 are from imported cases.
