Taiwan changes validity period of Digital COVID-19 Certificate to 365 days for people under 18 in line with EU rules

On April 13, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) reported that according to the European Commission, though the European Medicines Agency has authorized booster shots for people aged 12 or older, not all countries offer boosters to children in this age group; thus, the 270-day validity period applies to only COVID certificates issued to people aged 18 or older after their primary vaccination series, while the validity period for COVID certificates provided to individuals under the age of 18 following their primary vaccination series remains to be 365 days. Countries using the EU-DCC system are encouraged to revise their verification programs accordingly.

The CECC pointed out that the verification program of Taiwan's Digital COVID-19 Certificate (https://dvc.mohw.gov.tw/verifier-web) will be updated today in line with the EU rules. This modification does not affect the application website and digital certificates that have been issued. The system will automatically determine that the validity period for the certificates issued to people under 18 after their primary vaccination is 365 days.
