Kaohsiung Port to start trial run of testing program requiring ship crew members to present COVID-19 PCR or rapid test report; crew members urged to heighten vigilance for COVID-19 and practice health monitoring

On February 25, the Central Epidemic Command Center announced that as the Kaohsiung City Government suggested that ship crew members undergo a COVID-19 rapid test upon arrival at a port of Taiwan, the CECC has agreed to begin a trial run of the plan in the Port of Kaohsiung after evaluating the plan. Under the plan, all ship crew members arriving at the Port of Kaohsiung must provide their COVID-19 PCR or rapid test report. Those who have a positive test result must not have contact with personnel boarding their ship and must continue to follow disease prevention regulations for boarding and operations at ports.
