The infection caused by human prion protein is most common diagnosed as Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (CJD) and new variant CJD (vCJD). CJD is classified into sporadic, hereditary, and iatrogenic types. The guide for clinical diagnosis and management includes diseases and pathogens, diagnosis and clinical presentations, risk assessment and management, etc. The infection control recommendations comprise patient management and tracking, risk assessment and filing, evaluation and reprocessing of medical devices and material, pathogen deactivation, and the care of patients in medical institutions, long-term care facilities and homes, included for which are protective measures, environmental cleanliness, waste disposal and handling of the deceased.
