內容介紹:

Taiwan CDC is a leading public health agency in Taiwan that plays a key role in protecting all people on this island from the threats of infectious diseases such as TB, HIV/AIDS and dengue fever. The English edition of our annual report presents CDC’s achievements of last year and its future goals, and it also intends to give its readers an overview of the center. In order to tackle the threat posed by a potential influenza pandemic, Taiwan CDC has formulated the National Influenza Pandemic Preparedness Plan. Moreover, Taiwan CDC participated in conducting the EU FP7 project called “Health system analysis to support capacity development to respond to pandemic influenza in Asia” from 2008-2011, and conducted the analysis of stakeholders among different countries. The completed research and final report were presented at the “Stakeholder Analysis on the Response to the 2009 H1N1 Influenza Pandemic in Six Asian Countries” held in Thailand and Netherlands in 2011. We also introduce our national communicable diseases surveillance systems, important communicable diseases prevention and control, including tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, influenza, enteroviruses, and denude fever. We also emphasize the importance of emergency preparedness & response. In addition, the implementation of national immunization programs including vaccine injury compensation program, research, development and manufacture are the main focus of our centers. Health marketing plays a key role in educating our people to know more about communicable diseases and were promoted through various activities as well as printed and electronic media. As a member of global village, we also put much emphasis on international cooperation. We believe that with our responsible and distinguished employees, Taiwan will be a healthier place for people on this island and for people abroad.
