內容介紹：Taiwan CDC is a leading public health agency in Taiwan that plays a key role in protecting all people on this island from the threats of infectious diseases such as TB, HIV/AIDS and dengue fever. The English edition of our annual report presents CDC’s achievements of last year and its future goals, and it also intends to give its readers an overview of the center. In 2008, we held APEC Workshop for the Control Practice of Dengue Fever in Kaohsiung which gathered 40 experts from 12 different member economies to share their experiences in the prevention and control of dengue fever. In this report, we also introduce our national communicable diseases surveillance systems, important communication disease prevention and control, including tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, enteroviruses as well as denude fever. Facing the threat of novel influenza, we also emphasize the importance of emergency preparedness & response. Our national immunization programs has also been successfully implemented. Also, with our outstanding employees, we also accomplish a lot in researching, developing and manufacturing. Knowing that during a pandemic, it’s extremely important for the public to stay calm, thus making the public more knowledgeable about the communicable diseases has been an vital issue for us, as a result, we think health marketing plays a key role in educating our people. Except making every effort to make Taiwan a safer and healthier place, as a member of global village, we also put much emphasis on international cooperation. We believe that with our responsible and distinguished employees, Taiwan will be a healthier place for people on this island and for people abroad.
