January 8, 2013--As of January 8, 2013, no case of enterovirus infection with severe complications have been reported and confirmed by Taiwan CDC in 2013. In 2012, there were 153 cases (including 2 deaths) of enterovirus infection with severe complications; among 153 confirmed cases there were 149 cases caused by EV71. 

No case was newly confirmed in Week 1 (January 2 to January 8 ). (See Fig. 1(pdf file))
