During Week 35, 2016 (August 28 to September 3, 2016, Fig. 1), 1 sever case due to enterovirus infection was newly confirmed. A total of 18 cases of enterovirus infection with severe complications (EVSC) have been confirmed by Taiwan CDC in 2016. The majority of cases were aged 0-3 (Table 1). Seventeen cases were infected with EV71 and 1 case was infected with Coxsackie A5.

Figure 2 displays the geographical distribution of these cases according to their residence.
