During Week 37, 2016 (September 11 to17, 2016, Fig. 1), three sever cases due to enterovirus infection were newly confirmed(including 1 death). A total of 21 cases of enterovirus infection with severe complications (EVSC) have been confirmed by Taiwan CDC in 2016. The majority of cases were aged 0-3 (Table 1). Twenty cases were infected with EV71(including 1 death) and 1 case was infected with Coxsackie A5.Figure 2 displays the geographical distribution of these cases according to their residence.
