No severe case was newly confirmed in Week 21, 2016 (May 22 to May 28, 2016, Fig. 1). Three cases of enterovirus infection with severe complications (EVSC) have been confirmed by Taiwan CDC in 2016. Two cases were aged 2 years old and one was aged below 1 year old (Table 1). They were all infected with EV71. Figure 2 displays the geographical distribution of these cases according to their residence.
