June 9, 2015--Asof June 9, 2015, 2 cases of enterovirus infection with severe complications(including 1 death) have been confirmed by Taiwan CDC in 2015. These cases wereboth caused by Coxsackie B5 and aged below 1 year old (Table 1). Figure 1displays the geographical distribution of these cases according to theirresidence. In 2014, there were 6 cases (including 1 death) of enterovirus infection with severecomplications.

One severe case was confirmedin Week 22 (June 3 to June 9, Fig. 2). The case was a 3 days old newborn babygirl. She was infected by Coxsackie B5 and she passed away 8 days after herbirth.
