November 22, 2011--As of November 22, 2011, 28 cases of enterovirus infection with severe complications had been reported and confirmed by Taiwan CDC. These cases are aged below 10 years (See Table 1(pdf file)) and reside in the northern, central, eastern and southern areas of Taiwan. (See Fig. 1(pdf file))

Four cases were confirmed in Week 46 (November 16 to November 22). They are 1-year-old girl from Chiayi City, 5-year-old girl from Chiayi County, 4-month-old boy and 6-year-old boy from Tainan City. Their infections were caused by EV71, and they had been discharged. (See Fig. 2(pdf file))
