「 Manual for infectious Specimen Collection」was published according to article 46, the Control of Communicable Diseases Act in order to ascertain the quality of clinical specimen for the following laboratory diagnosis. This manual included six chapters. The first chapter defined the clinical specimen, the collectors, and their holding containers. The second chapter described the collecting purpose and timing of clinical specimen as well as the conditions for transportation. The third chapter described the procedures of specimen collection. The fourth chapter mentioned the SOPs for packing and transportation. The last 2 chapters included information on the location of the diagnostic laboratories, days required for diagnosis, and laboratories of Taiwan CDC.
